I was thinking the other day about how different next summer is going to be compared to this one. No more diapers! Party?
YAY for that! We can have a no-diapers party for ya!?
Maybe I’ll even carry a purse again?
Amen, sister! You go girl! ?
No more cribs or pack and plays to lug on vacation. No more, nodding in confusion at the two year old’s blur of words and sentences.
LOL! Now that my kids are 4 and up, it IS nice to know what they are trying to tell me!
Some of this makes me very sad, of course, but there is one thing I’m super pumped about: NO MORE SIPPY CUPS!! I cannot get rid of these things fast enough! If they don’t leak, rip, or fall apart mid-sip, they grow mold in all those tiny crevices ?Gross!
Cheers to real cups! ? And to not being sad (or feeling like you SHOULD be sad) about some of the good things about the next phase of motherhood.
You know, that’s a good point. When I sent Jesse to kindergarten last year, I was an emotional disaster. Part of me could not believe I was putting my biggest BABY on a bus for school. It seemed to mean that my days of little ones at home was coming to an end and I was so going to miss that. But, surprise–last year was great!
You know what, I’m tired of worrying about missing things! “Don’t blink, it’ll be over and you’ll miss this!” Which is true, I know already… but instead of just dwelling on what we’ll miss, why not celebrate a little what we WON’T miss?
Yes! And there are some great things about your kids growing up and becoming the people God created them to be. I want them to know that I will love them always, not just when they were babies. #thetruthaboutsummer #thetruthaboutsippycups #thetruthaboutkidsgrowing
